We went for a walk at Arcadia, the Audubon sanctuary in Easthampton yesterday. We saw a number of interesting wildflowers, including these:

Mayapple

Star flower
I also got a good look at a red tail hawk who just sat on this branch while I approached.

Today we made it 5.7 miles from route 202 to route 141 in Holyoke. It was another beautiful day, with some gorgeous views, especially from the basalt cliffs overlooking Westfield.
We saw a number of butterflies, including a Tiger Swallowtail, a Black Swallowtail, a Mourning Cloak, and a pierid, probably virginiensis, though I didn’t get [...]
