Historical fiction is my favorite! I can tell by your writing that you have done a lot of reading, because you really knew how to put your story together. And even in this short piece, you gave me a very keen sense of what Katie was like as a person--someone who really cared about her family and was willing to do whatever she could to help when she was needed.
