Sage has been interested in cooking recently. She’s particularly excited about cookies and pancakes and other things that need to be mixed and stirred and generally turn out to be fairly sweet. Her enthusiasm fit nicely with the request to bring cakes into school for a charity coffee morning. She picked the recipe out from her cookbook (thanks Renu!) and measured and mixed her way through the recipe with only some minor assistance from me.
There was a bit of a mishap when one of the eggs cracked and most of it missed the bowl. You can see it dripping off the edge of the counter in this picture. I just love the look on her face!
The cakes turned out beautifully and she decorated them this morning. I’m looking forward to heading off in a bit to sample some of the other items, socialize a bit, and watch River play in a soccer tournament.
