The lavender patch

We went to check out a nearby lavender patch today while River was playing at a friend’s house.  We picked a half dozen varieties of the sweet-scented herb and came away with some nice bouquets for drying.

The lavender patch also boasts a tea shop, so we decided to have a treat.  Molly and I had cream tea, which is tea with a scone and clotted cream and strawberry jam.  It’s very English and very, very delicious.  Sage decided to try the meringues, which also came with clotted cream and strawberries.  She approved as well.
