We spent some time last night skipping rope. Sage has gotten quite good at it. Apparently, it has been something of a craze among the kids in her class at school. She’s the current record holder at our house.

The kids finished school for the year last Friday. They both had sports [...]

Molly recently got back from a Tae Kwon Do workshop.  It sounds like she had a great time.  The workshop was in a beautiful spot on the southern coast of Spain.  There was plenty of time to enjoy the water and the sun in between workouts.

Apparently, they did some TKD outside of the workshop as [...]

The kids were ready to go before we finished packing and spent some time on the swings waiting for us.

It isn’t particularly far to Hartington from Derby, but the [...]

It has been relatively warm here the last few days and we’ve been sleeping with the window open. On Sunday night, we awoke to a sound something like this. It turns out Chester had been perched in the open window and had snagged a bat as it flew past. He [...]

We had a great time visiting some of the beautiful stately homes in Derbyshire with our visitors.
Kedleston Hall, the home of the Curzon family who was once the viceroy of India, was very interesting. Much of the architecture was designed in the neo-classical style by Robert Adam who was influenced by his Italian [...]
