I’ve been doing some gardening recently. I converted a patch of grass into a garden bed a while back. The vegetables have been growing nicely.

We’ve eaten lettuce out of the garden several times now. River decided we should put the marigold pot in the garden instead of on the wall by the driveway because she knows that many insects don’t like marigolds. She is hoping to repel them from the vegetables.

Beets are such pretty colors.

The carrots are coming along fine as well.

It’s great having a nursery just down the street. I stopped by today and brought home some tomatoes, cucumbers, and bean and sunflower seeds.

Your vegetables look wonderful, Andy! It makes me feel hungry and healthy just to look at them! This weekend will be the Memorial Day holiday, so it will be time to start planting here too. I’ve been working on getting the garden plot ready to go–there are lots of weeds doing very well right now! I will put in some of the same things you have in England and hope that they will be ready to harvest when you are home this summer! Love from your mom — I’m glad that I know where you’re going when you talk about the garden center!
