Molly went to the first meeting of the South Derbyshire Knitting Group that she helped to organized through Ravelry. There were nine knitters there, including her and River, and apparently it went off well. They are planning to meet bi-monthly in the future. Sage was inspired to take up finger-knitting with a vengeance. She carried her bag around all weekend, as you can see in the picture below.
After the knitting group, we set off for a music festival in the Peak District. As part of the celebration, there was a green parade. The kids enjoyed the festive atmosphere, marching all around the stage and through the camping area.

I was a bit disappointed with the music at the festival. England seems to be enjoying a renaissance of 80’s / punk culture. Overall, though, the festival was very nice. There was a friendly atmosphere, loads of kids, and the weather was beautiful. We enjoyed the storytelling by our friend Rachel who we’ve seen perform several times before.

Sage found a comfortable spot to listen:

You might think that three people wouldn’t be able to fit in one sleeping bag, but I hope you didn’t bet too much on it.

On Sunday, we packed up and went for a walk at Dovedale.

The kids were fascinated with these logs studded with coins. Perhaps they were left as offerings for the wood folk?

We climbed up through the archway to Reynard’s Cave.

This time I remembered to bring the headlamps and we explored the dark tunnel which was very exciting.

The trail is very popular, especially on a bank holiday weekend, and there was a queue at the stepping stones.

Despite the steady drizzle, it was an enjoyable walk and a nice way to end the weekend.

Hi Andy and co!
Enjoying reading about your adventures over there in the UK ….and admit to some envy at times….however I’ll be over in Scotland with the kids for almost 3 months starting in August. We’ll mostly be up in the Shetland Isles where my parents live ….so if you ever get up that way let me know!
Also what is your user name on Ravelry so I can find you? (I’m just Gudrun)

What a fine time you all must have had! I wish you could have heard my comments as I was moving along through the pictures and text! “OH! AH! Aren’t they all beautiful??” I didn’t even realize I was talking to myself until I looked around after I got to the end! I loved every single one of those pictures!! I saw that you were wearing some of your new clothes too! Great photography and wonderful subjects! Love, Grana

Hello, Gudrun. We would love to come and find you up in Scotland. The girls have 2 weeks off school in October, I think, so maybe we can plan a trip! We have Scotland toward the top of our priority list for trips, but don’t have anything scheduled in yet.
I am Sackett on Ravelry. I’m at work now, but I’ll try to remember to add you as a friend next time I log on.
