The sanguine gardener

I know it’s only January, but some of the gardeners in this family seem not to have paid much mind to the weather. The nursery down the street has a nice selection of hardy flowers, and we’ve bought pretty much all of them. We spent some time digging a new flower bed this afternoon.

Here’s River’s garden so far. It’s mostly primroses, but there are a couple strawberries in the middle. There are a few bulbs in there somewhere. I think she’s planning to plant sunflowers against the rock wall after it has warmed up a bit. Think spring!
