We’ve been feeding the ducklings for the past few weeks. They eat voraciously when we feed them and they’ve gotten quite large now. Their feathers are really developing and they’re losing their yellow color. They’ve learned that there is food coming when we approach and sometimes if we’re a bit late with the goods, they waddle up towards the house quacking loudly.
There are a few mallards who’ve been trying to join the flock. The adult ducks occasionally try to chase them off, but it’s clear they know they’ve found a good spot. I’m curious to see how long they’ll stick around.
