I’ve been working on putting together the climbing, swinging thing. River has been very helpful.

River drillingRiver with screwdriver

When I was putting the hardware on for the climbing wall, I realized I’d put them all in the wrong side and knocked them back out. I lifted up the wall and picked up all the pieces, but one was missing. Right underneath was a vole hole. I couldn’t find it anywhere else, so I guessed it must have fallen into the hole. Well, the hole kept going and going and going. I had to dig more than a foot down before the hole leveled out and I found the piece I was missing.

  1. hey – you changed the layout…

Nice picture of River with power tools! I was wondering what had happened to that thing. Clearly it is there and going up.

  2. yeah, I’ve been messing with the theme a bit. I’m not sure I’ll stay with this bluebird one, but I like it for now.

I never did hear how much weight we ended up getting into the container, but this thing is pretty heavy! I’ve got most of the structure together, there’s just the monkey bars left to attach and then all the little bits like swings, etc. Hopefully it’ll be done soon.

  3. How did you know it was a vole hole? It could have been a giant snake–or a BEAR!?!

  4. Molly says it’s too cold for snakes, all the bears in England were killed, and we saw the vole.
