Last week, we went to Manchester. Molly had went to a conference there and we went along to see Manchester. We spent the morning at the hotel, swimming in the pool and going in and out of the steam room and the sauna. The steam room was a bit too hot, but everyone was very pleased with the sauna!

Later, we made it out into the city. Manchester has a bit of a London feel to it. We went to Urbis, an exhibition centre focusing on city life.

There was an exhibition called “Play” featured at Urbis when we were there. It was a lot of fun, as you can see in the picture below. The kids loved throwing balls from a balcony, spinning, and dancing. I especially enjoyed being inspired by exhibits about guerilla gardening, and flash mobbing. Definitely check out this street art project – Little people, left in London to fend for themselves.

We wandered around a bit in this hip section of town and had a bite to eat at a cafe near this sculpture. We also saw a bit of the Museum of Industry and Science, which seems quite good. The kids were pretty interested in the building with all the old airplanes. Maybe we’ll try to get back there sometime to see the rest of the museum.
